We hadn't set foot in the Aloha Lounge since we were first dating, and I knew the second we walked into the drifting smoke and crooked music, that we'd end the evening in each other's arms…or at each other's throats.  The place had that kind of wild energy.  We danced from the floor to the tabletop to the parking lot and kept on even after the music had ended and the musicians were loading their instruments back into an orange and white RV.   They were hooting at us as they pulled out of the lot.  "Take it out back!" one of them called out the window, but “out back” was no more deserted than the lot where we waltzed slowly to a music that was long gone.  As their tail lights flickered in the distance and went out, I noticed the luminous band of the Milky Way overhead for the first time in ages.  We laid on our backs in the dust of the empty parking lot, staring into the immensity of the brightening sky.  I think the band was called Loose Lemons.
